Ginger Mangie
Wildside Stitching was founded by Ginger Mangie in 2009.
It is dedicated to needle arts, excellence in quilting techniques, defining the “Art” in Art Quilting, the development of original and individual designs, and the relationship between quilting and historical story telling. Ginger holds a degree in Home Economics and a Master’s Degree in Education teaching Human Ecology for over 35 years.
Her original quilt designs have won numerous regional and national awards both for technique and design. Today she provides instruction on techniques, original patterns, design classes, and lectures on weaving both family and American history into quilts that tell a story, and lectures surrounding her extensive collection of women’s accessories and clothing, putting into historical context of the changing role of women in our society.
She is a certified National Quilting Association teacher, former Secretary for the Northeastern Ohio Regional Quilt Council, a Board Member for the Stan Hywet Needlework Guild, and immediate past President of TQGIBT in Canfield, OH.
