Proposed Bylaws Revisions
Today the bylaws review committee is sharing releasing a red-line draft of the proposed changes to the Common Threads Bylaws. Members will have a chance to provide comments and questions in two ways.
First, there will be a Zoom meeting on September 1 at 7 pm (see details below) that is open to all members.
Secondly, members can email Jennifer Thurmon at wwaterjen@yahoo.com. Email comments must be received by 5 pm September 14, 2026.
The final proposed Bylaws amendments will be presented at the September guild meeting. They will also be posted on the website and Facebook page. The second publication will take place in October, with the vote at the November meeting.
The committee has determined that the language addressing the behavior of guild members did not belong in the Bylaws. It is more appropriate for the Member Handbook. The committee is working on updating that document as well as the Officers Handbook and the Committee Handbook. Our goal is to finish these three documents by the end of the year.
