Hello Everyone!
I am loving this fall weather. It has been a great fall – I was in Texas and New Mexico and had the opportunity to go to the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. That was an awesome experience! I also visited a couple quilt stores (imagine that)! One, Pins and Needles in Alamagorda, gave me a 12% discount because I was in a guild!!! At the Balloon Fiesta a local guild makes a raffle quilt each year. I have included a picture of this year’s quilt and I got to meet one of the ladies that made the quilt. Very interesting and fun!

Our last speaker for the 2025 year is Sherri Lynn Woods, sherrilynnwood.com, from Cincinnati. She teaches improv quilting. This summer she even taught a class in France. The title of her presentation is, “Improvise! Creating and Quilting Courageously.” I hope many of you will be able to come and enjoy her presentation on October 28th.
I know that we have struggled with getting some of our programs to display. We are working to rectify that. The church has WIFI but it doesn’t work in the basement. The WIFI issue has been discussed at the Church’s board meeting and they are working to resolve the issue. Hopefully, they will have upgraded by next year. We try to work with the presenters, but sometimes they do not have or bring with them the needed hardware or connectors. We are purchasing our own connectors to make it simpler for our guest. I appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.
We will also be voting on the slate of officers for next year.
Co-Presidents - Melanie Dodd and Karen Jackson
Co- Vice Presidents - Jennifer Thurmond and Gayle Vargo
Treasurer - Betsy Truex
Secretary - Claire Paul
We will also have the fabric swap table. Bring fabric you would like to rehome and donate it to the table. Also, bring a plastic grocery sack and for $5 you can take home a sack full of new fabric. The guild will keep the profit from the swap table.
Fat Quarter Raffle
Bring a Christmas/Holiday fat quarter. One raffle ticket for each fat quarter you bring.
November
Our November meeting will be a Holiday Pot Luck and Mug Rug exchange. The first part of November I will post a sign-up for all the yummies you want to bring. If you do not want to bring food to share, there will be plenty of food and you can donate $5 instead of bringing something.
We will also have a Mug Rug exchange. You can make any type of mug rug you want and any theme (does not have to be Christmas). There will also be some special door prizes. I hope everyone can attend and enjoy some quilting fellowship.
Happy Sewing,
Carol and Bev
